Scrub-Typhus Study

The Medicine Department of CMC Vellore and former Medical Superintendent Dr. David Tariang, as a co-investigator, had started a Scrub-Typhus (Rickettsial Disease) study to investigate the epidemiology of the disease in hopes of developing a vaccine for it.
Another study led by Dr Tariang: Molecular Epidemiology and Genetic Diversity of Orientia tsutsugamushi from patients with Scrub Typhus in India. (A study in collaboration with the Department of Medicine; Infectious Disease Unit; CMC Vellore). Published Emerging Infectious Disease Jan 2015.

Exchange Transfusion in Severe Complicated Malaria

A retrospective study on the use of Exchange Transfusion in Severe Complicated Malaria was led by the Department of Medicine under Dr. Amy Eapen and Dr. David Tariang.
