The RHC Myriaw is one of the fourth RHCs under the Dr. H. Gordon Roberts Hospital. It is located at the distance of 64 Km from Shillong and 31 Km from Mairang, the District Headquarter under Mawthadraishan Community and Rural Development Block. Initially the RHC was operated temporarily from the Office building of the Myriaw Presbytery with OPD services. Like the other 3 RHCs of the Hospital, the objective is to provide primarily health care viz. OP/IP, 24Χ7 Emergency services, Ante and Post natal clinic, home visits and School Health Programme. The RHCs serve to provide an opportunity for the rural clinical practice for the students of the College of Nursing which is as per the Indian Nursing Council (INC) syllabus. The doctor visits every market day beside a trained Nurse, Ward maid and a peon cum- chowkidar who are working everyday in the RHC.
The RHC caters to about 21 villages under its catchment.
A piece of land at Mawphanblang measuring 17,052 Sq.ft which was donated by Smt. Nightingale Diengdoh in memory of her father (L) Soin Sing Syiem, Syiem of Hima Myriaw (1968-1980) and her mother (L) Lukimai Diengdoh for the construction of the RHC. While the foundation stone of the RHC was laid by Shri. Sniawbhalang Dhar Minister of Urban Affairs, Commerce and Industries on 2nd May, 2022 as the Chief Guest in presence of Hon’ble MP (Rajya Sabha) Guest of Honour.
The RHC building was constructed through the financial assistance under CMSDF- (2021-2022) besides donation from Hon’ble MP (Rajya Sabha), office of the Hon’ble Governor and donation from Churches, Individuals etc.
The Inauguration of the RHC was held on 16th January, 2025. Shri Conrad K. Sangma Hon’ble Chief Minister, Meghalaya as the Chief Guest, Shri. Shakliar Warjri Hon’ble Minister Labour, Sports and Youth Affairs and Dr. W. R. Kharlukhi Hon’ble MP (Rajya Sabha) as Guests of Honour, in presence of Rev. S. S. Majaw, Chairman of the Hospital Governing Board, Medical Superintendent, Administrative Officer, Deputy Medical Superintendent, Principal College of Nursing, Nursing Superintendent, Members of the Hospital Governing Board, Representative from the Myriaw Presbytery, District Commissioner and Officials of Eastern West District, Churches and representative from the Dorbar Shnong under Myriaw area.
