Diabetic Clinic

The Diabetic Clinic at Dr. H. Gordon Robert’s Hospital offers medical care and preventative services to patients suffering from or at high risk of developing diabetes. The staff check how your diabetes is being managed and provide counselling on how to properly manage any future health problems that may occur. The diabetic clinic has a group of nurses who are otherwise designated as diabetic educators who are specialised in diabetes management.

FGMS

Flash Glucose Monitoring System is a relatively new way of monitoring glucose levels. In it a sensor is used measure the glucose concentration automatically every 15 minutes. The diabetic clinic has adopted FGMS for more accurate glucose readings.

Ambulatory BP Monitoring

Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) is a relatively new technique for assessing a person’s blood pressure used in the diabetic clinic. ABPM allows the clinic to assess your blood pressure during your daily routine. So, the clinic will be getting a wide range of readings to accurately assess the patient’s health

Monofilament Testing

A patient with diabetes is at risk of developing nerve damage mainly diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN). To diagnose DPN a test that is performed at the diabetic clinic is Monofilament Testing. Due to the incidence of nerve damage in the foot due to diabetes the diabetic clinic also looks after foot care for the patient.
